Pick-Up/Drop-Off Procedure
Parking
Parking at Wagner Ranch is limited. Please do not park in the staff parking lot which is located by the upper grade playground or on the hill’s exit ramp. Visitor parking can be found in the parking spots along the entrance road to campus and under the solar panels. Additional parking is available in the gravel parking lot adjacent to the Sports Field.
Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Drop off and pick up can be challenging. Your assistance and adherence to the rules is crucial for efficiency and safety. Drop Off and Pick Up Video
- Cars entering the carpool circle should stay in the left lane upon entry to the school grounds. Exiting traffic uses the right lane.
- Cars need to wait at the stop sign until other cars have cleared or when waved ahead by a staff member.
- Never pass a car or bus ahead of you.
- PULL AS FAR FORWARD AS POSSIBLE - ALWAYS
- Remain in your car and allow your child to exit or enter on his or her own or allow a staff member or traffic patrol student to assist.
- Children may only enter and exit on the curbside.
- If your child cannot yet un/buckle their seat belt, please move beyond the drop off zone to assist.
- At the end of the school day, children sit with their grade level in front of the school to be picked up. Please advise your child to sit calmly with their classmates.
- Using red zones or the staff lot for dropping off or picking up is unsafe and not allowed.
- Follow directions given by staff at all times.
- Playground supervision begins at 7:40. Early drop offs typically experience no congestion!
- Students who arrive before 7:40 or late birds who arrive before 8:40 need to check into Bandit Club.
- We will not allow children to leave school with ride shares such as Uber, Lyft, etc.
- Student Name Sign on dash board: If you write your child’s name in large print on an 8 ½ x 11 paper and post on dash board during pick up time, it will expedite traffic and assist staff doing carpool
Ride & Walk to School
We encourage students to use means other than autos to come to school. Cycling, or other wheeled devices, may be a good option – either independently for older children or accompanied by an adult for younger ones. State law requires that students wear a helmet when riding their bicycles. Bikes and the like need to be walked while on school grounds, including sidewalks at entry and exit. Bikes and scooters must be left at the bike rack on the upper grade playground. Students should also bring a sturdy lock, as the school is not responsible for loss or damage. If your child will be independently riding or walking to school, you must complete a permission slip which can be found in your registration enrollment packet.

One of our primary concerns at Wagner Ranch is maintaining safety. Patience and courtesy are the keys to a safe carpool experience.DO:

- Wait at the stop sign before you are signaled forward.
- Pull up to one of the four carpool spaces in order without cutting in front of another car.
- Wait to pull away from the curb in the order in which you arrived without pulling out in front of another car.
- Stay inside your car as the child exits or enters your car. Traffic patrol students and staff will be there to assist students.
- Have backpacks ready so your child can quickly get out of the car when you drive up to a carpool spot.
